Fair Usage Policy
Effective 24 April 2026 · Version 1.0
This Fair Usage Policy ("FUP") describes the reasonable-use thresholds that apply to every Moneytrak plan. It exists so we can keep prices low and the service fast for honest users — not to nickel-and-dime you.
1. Our commitments to you
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal or financial data with any third party. Ever.
- We do not use your data to train models, serve ads, or build profiles for advertisers.
- We do not embed Google Analytics, Meta pixels, or cross-site trackers.
- Your vault is encrypted on your device before it reaches our cloud. We see ciphertext, not numbers.
2. Usage thresholds
These are generous ceilings meant to catch abuse, not to limit normal personal use. If you're a real human tracking your own money, you will never hit these.
| Resource | Free | Premium | Family |
|---|---|---|---|
| Transactions / month | 500 | Unlimited* | Unlimited* |
| Assets tracked | 25 | Unlimited* | Unlimited* |
| Goals | 3 | Unlimited* | Unlimited* |
| Device sync | 2 devices | 5 devices | 10 devices |
| Attachments / bills | 100 MB | 5 GB | 10 GB |
| Exports / month | 3 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| API calls / hour | 60 | 600 | 1200 |
*Unlimited means "any sensible personal-finance usage". We reserve the right to contact you if you exceed 10× the median power user.
3. Prohibited use
- Using Moneytrak for a business, fund, or fiduciary account — these require a regulated platform.
- Running automated scripts, scrapers, or stress tests against our servers.
- Sharing a single account across multiple unrelated people (each member needs their own account; Family plan covers up to 6 related members).
- Attempting to reverse-engineer or bypass our cryptography.
- Any activity that violates Indian law (money laundering, tax evasion, unlicensed advisory, etc.).
4. What happens if you exceed the limits
Our preferred path is always a conversation. Before any restriction, we'll email you at your registered address with a clear explanation and 14 days to respond or adjust.
- Step 1 — Courtesy notice: "Hey, we noticed unusual activity. Is everything OK?"
- Step 2 — Soft throttle: Temporary rate limits on non-critical endpoints.
- Step 3 — Plan upgrade conversation: If you've outgrown your plan, we'll help migrate.
- Step 4 — Suspension (last resort): Only for clear abuse, after at least two warnings.
5. Changes to this policy
We'll notify all users at least 30 days before any change that could reduce your limits. You can review this page anytime.
